    If anyone tells you that Hammett's THE MALTESE FALCON
    is the Gold Standard of crime fiction,
    do not waste time disagreeing with them.

    If anyone tells you that Hammett's THE THIN MAN
    is funnier than the film introducing Nick +Nora Charles
    do not waste your money by betting against them
