I read this novel some years ago and fully agree with what these book reviewers said about it. Surfacing convinced me that the main character of a novel does not have to be a likeable person.
Paul Oliverio fully agrees with your comment and had a similar reaction to Cate Blanchett's portrayal of LYDIA TAR. If she does not win an Academy Award tonight, I may throw a brick at my television set
