What you see (most appropriately)
is commonly called The Upside-Down Tree
When the universe was created
The gardens of Africa were elated
When the universe came to pass
The baobob grew through the looking glass

A Question About Bob Dylan's First Album

In the cover photo, the buttons
on Bob Dylan's jacket
are on the left side...
Was Dylan wearing
a woman's jacket?
Too bad for
the shockmeisters:
The answer is NO.

Open Letter To The Most Powerful Woman On Earth
________________________________________________________________________________________________
Dear Miss Merkel
Congratulations, Angela,
on being selected
TIME MAGAZINE's 2015
Person Of The Year.
Your offer of $3 billion
to Turkey to eliminate
the flow of Arab refugees
into the Euro Nations
is very close to
a viable solution but
not quite worthy of a cigar.
To earn a cigar the size
of Switzerland, I suggest
a real solution to eliminate
the existence of that
horrible horde
of terrorists
known as ISIS.
Miss Merkel:
Just focus on the letter M
Offer that money to Mossad
and the Mafia and they will
make mincemeat of those
mega-monsters!
Mossad and the Mafia are the only
forces on Earth with the stealth
and necessary evil powers
to eliminate the ugliest
blemish on this planet.
They would earn every penny
of that three billion dollar
booty to make this world
a safer place for
the rest of us.
All other "solutions" are
merely mealy-mouthing and
big-pocket stuffing.
Sincerely,
Harry Homelandia

In All Ernstness: Max And Jimmy...(JE #1)
________________________________________________________________________________________________
"If twenty people were to receive royalties
every time the word surreal was spoken,
Max Ernst would be one of them,"
said the BIRD HEAD. ⟿
Five days ago, there was
an Obligation for those of us
with Pope Francis in our blood.
Born in 1891, Max Ernst was a German Catholic.
That holy day of December
Obligation is known as
THE IMMACULATE
CONCEPTION.
That is also the name
of this Ernst piece ➜
In 1918, Max married
Luise Strauss.
In 1920, she gave birth
to Hans-Ulrich Ernst
who was born in
the same city
as his father:
Cologne.
This ROCKING HORSE
may or may not have been
a gift from Father to Son.
That is, a gift from
the Ernst known
as Max to the
Ernst who
became
Jimmy.
And the Ernst who became Jimmy
was also an artist.
He may or may not have been a Surrealist.
You be the judge...

Another Poem From The Anonymistress

Two red dry leaves
Clinging twogether—
the last on the tree
I looked for the pair today
but could not see the leaves
for the forest of trees.
Clinging twogether—
the last on the tree
I looked for the pair today
but could not see the leaves
for the forest of trees.

A VISIT FROM
YOUNG GLOOM
There's been a young stranger at our house,
A baby whom nobody knew:
Who hated his brother, his father, his mother,
And made them aware of it, too.
There's been a young stranger at our house,
A baby whom nobody knew:
Who hated his brother, his father, his mother,
And made them aware of it, too.
He stayed with us nearly
a fortnight
And carried a grouch all the while.
Nor promise nor present could make him look pleasant;
He hadn't the power to smile.
And carried a grouch all the while.
Nor promise nor present could make him look pleasant;
He hadn't the power to smile.
He cried when he
couldn't have something;
He cried just as hard when he could:
Kind words by the earful but made him more tearful,
And scoldings did just as much good.
He cried just as hard when he could:
Kind words by the earful but made him more tearful,
And scoldings did just as much good.
He stormed when his
meals weren't ready,
And when they were ready, he screamed.
He went to bed growling, got up again howling
And quarreled and snarled as he dreamed.
And when they were ready, he screamed.
He went to bed growling, got up again howling
And quarreled and snarled as he dreamed.
He's gone, and the child
we are fond of
Is back, just as nice as of old.
But I hope to be in some port European
The next time he has a bad cold.
Is back, just as nice as of old.
But I hope to be in some port European
The next time he has a bad cold.

in Major League Baseball:
You don’t break barriers without being incredibly,
insanely persistent. You put in the work,
make yourself qualified and then
just keep banging on the door.

#1
Seeing you eat
I would get love
bubbles, even
when dark clouds
of anger lurked
between us.
To feed you, your
mouth accepting
delicious, both
of us understanding
tofu, peanut butter
ice cream
in a wife beater
or a worn shirt
Eyes closed.

#2
A sentimental piano
plucked from the past
of city windows.
(Lace and stone)
I think of you, sweetness
past into cold winds
of intimate terms.
I didn't hear a request
to dress nicely for you
(we didn't go to fancy
places) I heard criticism.
Both—our fault.

Spell His name backwards and you get Sausage.
According to the Institute of Inane Research,
Jesus Himself told this joke while multiplying
He initially made some sausage appear out of thin air,
then He told the joke about spelling His name backwards.
But His Hebrew tribe did not eat pork and the editors
of the Bible did not want to portray Christ as a comedian.
The next Institute of Inane page is here.
