It began as the GODFATHER OF MATH, evolved into the GOODFATHER OF MATH. Now this. Go figure...

About The Artist We Saw Last Saturday Night ... Page 2

The venue was
the Carpenter Center
on the campus
of Cal State Long Beach

Moments before
the artist appeared
on stage,
the US Senate race
was decided
with Democrat
Catherine Cortez Masto
being declared the winner,
guaranteeing her party
still "held" the Senate

5
The lights dimmed
when the director
of the Carpenter Center
appeared on stage
and said
"What happens in Vegas,
goes to Washington"
We all cheered
maddeningly

6
She then introduced the artist
whose voice came from off-stage
"We are now neck-and-neck
with fascism"

7
The artist was
and you might be thinking:
Is a stand-up comic
truly an artist?

8
In a world
where tragedy
is doing
a global fox trot,
the stand-up comic
may be
our most important
artist

9
Mr. Maron's set
was approximately
ninety minutes
and
Mr. and Mrs. CarPeo
agreed:
Sometimes we loved him,
sometimes we hated him
but he kept us enthralled
and laughing
all night long

I apologize
for all the missing
hyperlinks

    1. Yes I do.
He talked about the quarantine during Covid-19
making it easier for couples to copulate:
They produced babies during a pandemic
that was killing millions of people every day.

That was much more profound than funny
but, of course, we laughed in response
